Natural. Refined. Potent.
When Rob McConnachie founded 1839, he wasn't simply launching another honey brand. He was inspired by a story that began more than 180 years earlier.
In 1839, Mary Bumby arrived in New Zealand carrying two beehives, introducing the European honeybee to a land rich with native mānuka. The remarkable partnership that followed would ultimately create one of the world's most prized honeys.
Starting with just two drums of honey and a small shed in Matakana, Rob set out to honour that legacy through innovation, craftsmanship and an uncompromising commitment to quality.
